The First Emergency Diesel Generator Set Of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Unit 3 Was Successfully Shipped

The first emergency diesel generator set (hereinafter referred to as EDG) of Huaneng Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Unit No. 3 was successfully shipped from the factory at Shaanxi Diesel Engine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. This shipment marks the successful completion of the "Level 2 Milestone of the No. 3 Emergency Diesel Engine Arrival".

As a medium-voltage emergency AC power supply in a nuclear power plant, EDG's main function is to ensure that when the external AC power supply of the power plant is completely lost, each diesel generator set has the ability to meet the power requirements of emergency plant equipment to ensure the safe shutdown of the reactor. And prevent damage to important equipment due to loss of normal external power supply system.

In order to ensure the manufacturing quality and supply progress of EDG, Changjiang Company fully intervened in the manufacturing and testing stages of EDG equipment to perform the owner's supervision responsibilities. It steadily promoted EDG manufacturing based on the principles of quality first and conservative decision-making, and worked closely with Hainan Nuclear Power, Engineering Company, and Shaanxi Diesel Heavy Industry and other project teams coordinated and cooperated to promptly resolve problems such as governor problems, abnormal cylinder liner wear, and injector failures that occurred during the test, and successfully completed the manufacturing and supply task of the first EDG.

EDG is one of the cold test power sources of Changjiang Nuclear Power Unit No. 3. The shipment of the first EDG from the factory has laid a good foundation for the completion of the cold test node of the subsequent Changjiang Phase II project on schedule.
